Abbott Diabetes Care, Witney (Oxfordshire) has a clear vision for its sensor technology business taking it into high volume manufacture. At ADC Witney, we develop and manufacture a number of technologies used in the management of diabetes, including the next generation sensor technology used in the revolutionary new FreeStyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring system. We are expanding and have exciting opportunities for those keen to kick-start a career in engineering.
We are looking for keen, enthusiastic and driven people, wanting to start their career in engineering via an apprenticeship. Successful candidates will start their Level 3 Engineering Apprenticeship (Machining Technician) in September 2025.
This program will see you undertaking block release study periods at our carefully selected training providers facility, learning essential engineering skills and techniques including machining, bench fitting, assembly and CAD/CAM, alongside time spent on site with us in Witney, working integrated in our Operations and R&D Engineering teams. We expect that our apprentices will avail of the opportunity to qualify at Level 4, having completed a HNC in Engineering (covered in Years 3 and 4).
As an Abbott apprentice, you will receive ongoing support for your career development, including additional qualifications where relevant. Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship, you can expect a role that will match your skills and interests with business requirements.

Successful applicants will have
- Minimum GCSE 5/4 in Maths and English
- Demonstrated their initiative and drive through extra curricular activities
- A keen interest in engineering and a passion to work in the industry
