Job summary

Anglian Water Services in Milton Keynes is seeking a Works Technician - Process Controller to ensure water recycling processes are serviced and compliant. The role operates 24/7 with standard hours Mon-Fri 08:00-16:00, plus standby and occasional weekend duties with enhanced pay.

You will operate assets, perform maintenance, collect samples, and support energy efficiency while following safety policies. A full UK driving licence and IT aptitude are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in a field/engineering environment is preferred.
• Experience in a process/quality assurance environment is a plus.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain water recycling assets (tanks, pumps, screens, blowers, valves, motors, meters, compressors).
• Perform preventative and reactive servicing and maintenance.
• Carry out process sampling and escalate issues as needed.
• Follow safety policies and maintain good housekeeping.
• Aim to minimise energy use while maintaining compliance.

Works Technician - Process Controller

Salary – Starting at £31,756 with progression opportunities up to £42,873 Basic + standby & overtime payments

All tools, PPE, Business use of company van provided

Full Time / Permanent, with flexibility for part time

Location – Milton Keynes & surrounding areas

Hours – Our processes operate 24/7, whilst the working hours for this role are generally Monday – Friday, 08.00 - 16.00, we can offer flexibility on the start and finishing times. Please note there is a requirement for standby and occasional weekend working which come with their own pay rates.

Water Recycling is at the heart of our operations. The key services that we are responsible for are delivered by our in-house, highly skilled workforce. We collect and treat the water that customers have used, returning it to the environment via rivers and coastal outlets. Our network includes 76,000 kilometers of sewers which feed over 1,000 water recycling centers.

Your Role

The Works Technician Process Controller has a responsibility to ensure that our Water Recycling treatment processes and systems are serviced and maintained within the relevant regulatory compliance – you’ll do this by:

• Operating and maintaining our assets including tanks, pumps, screens, blowers, valves, motors, flow meters, compressors and much more.
• Performing preventative and reactive servicing and maintenance such as lubrication on the systems above.
• Carrying out process sampling to ensure things are operating as they should be and escalating any issues.
• Complying with company safety policy & procedures as well as maintaining good housekeeping
• Exploring and ensuring that we maintain the lowest possible energy demands without compromising compliance
• In this role you must be able to work within a confined space, and at height without restrictions. Due to harness weight limits, your maximum weight cannot be in excess of 113 kilograms and you will be expected to complete relevant occupational health checks

About you – Background and Experience

• Experience working in a Field/Engineering environment is ideal
• Experience of working in a process / quality assurance environment would also be an advantage, however not essential
• Good understanding of Health & Safety
• Must have a Full UK Manual Driving Licence
