Job summary

Matchtech Group is seeking a Works Coordination Officer for a contract role within the highways and traffic sector in London. The role focuses on street works permitting and road space coordination to prevent conflicts and minimise disruption to road users.

You will coordinate road space activities, review permits, work with utilities and contractors, and ensure alignment with project programmes. Strong GIS, traffic management interpretation and stakeholder管理 skills are essential.

Our client is seeking a Works Coordination Officer for a contract role within the highways and traffic sector. The position will support street works permitting and road space coordination across the London transport network, helping to prevent conflicts between works and minimise disruption to road users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinating road space activities and street works across the highways network
• Reviewing and managing works permits to identify potential conflicts and reduce network disruption
• Working with utility companies, contractors and relevant stakeholders to coordinate planned activities
• Assessing project programmes and aligning works with available road space
• Using GIS and mapping systems to support accurate planning and coordination
• Interpreting traffic management drawings and assessing their impact on the network
• Applying knowledge of the New Roads and Street Works Act and the Traffic Management Act
• Maintaining accurate records and providing updates on works coordination activities

Job Requirements:

• Experience in street works permitting and highways coordination
• Practical knowledge of Aurora, Symology or Street Manager
• Understanding of project programmes and the coordination of road space activities
• Knowledge of GIS and mapping systems
• Understanding of the New Roads and Street Works Act and the Traffic Management Act
• Ability to interpret traffic management drawings
• Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience with London Works, one.network, a utility company or a transport network contractor would be advantageous
