Job summary

UCS College Group in Taunton is seeking a Work Experience & Industry Placement Adviser to coordinate work experience and industry placements. The role focuses on placing learners in suitable environments and developing long-standing employer relationships.

The ideal candidate is student-focused, highly organised, and able to manage workloads effectively while supporting health & safety checks and administration across placement dates.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating work experience and industry placements.
• Ability to build strong relationships with employers.
• Confidence working with 16–18-year-olds and supporting their career aims.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Organised with ability to prioritise and manage workload.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work experience and industry placement activities across Taunton College.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with employers for long-term placements.
• Ensure administration and health & safety checks are completed for placements.
• Assist students to locate suitable placements aligned with career aims.
• Tailor the personal statement to reflect job specification requirements.

Job description

We are looking to appoint a Work Experience & Industry Placement Adviser to co-ordinate work experience and industry placement activities across our Taunton College. The successful candidate will be student focussed, with the students’ interests at the heart of what they do to ensure all learners attain valuable work experience and / or industry placements to enhance their achievement and progression and support their career aspirations.

This is a full time term time only position.

Salary - £23,165 per annum Actual

£26,101 per annum FTE

*Plus 17.3% Employer pension Contribution

You will be able to establish and develop strong relationships with employers and have a clear commitment to ensuring these relationships remain long standing by demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will equally be confident with working with 16–18-year-olds, helping them to locate a suitable placement.

As a Work Experience & Industry Placement Adviser you will be organised and have the ability to effectively prioritise and manage your workload. You will ensure that all students are placed in an environment appropriate to their career aims, and during their scheduled work experience dates, ensure that all administration, including health & safety checks are complete.

Candidates should tailor their personal statement to demonstrate how they meet the requirements of the job specification and criteria ensuring all points are addressed.
