This is a fixed term contract linked to specific external funding for 18 months.
The Work, Health and Skills Team is seeking to appoint an Adviser to support the delivery of our Youth Hubs, which help young people aged 18 to 24 access training, skills development and employment opportunities.
Support is delivered in partnership with Jobcentre colleagues who are co-located in community venues across the borough. The Youth Hubs are an integral part of our wider employment and skills offer, including Live Well Employment Support and the borough’s broader Live Well approach.
Youth employment remains a key priority for both the borough and national government. Our aim is to create opportunities that enable young people to develop, succeed and achieve their potential. We recognise that many young people face a range of barriers to employment and progression, and our approach combines practical support with personalised guidance and whole system support.
There is also the potential for additional support for 16 to 24-year-olds through future devolved funding opportunities, and this role will contribute to helping shape that provision based on identified gaps and needs of young people. The Youth Hub will play an important role in identifying and supporting paid work placements through the Youth Guarantee Scheme, alongside other current and future initiatives.
We are looking for an individual with experience of supporting young people, a good understanding of the challenges they may face, and someone that is passionate about supporting people to achieve their goals and fulfil their potential. The successful candidate will be encouraged to contribute ideas, develop innovative approaches and deliver workshops that effectively engage and support people.
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.
