Job summary

Ripple Recruitment is partnering with a digital agency in Basingstoke to hire a Junior Developer. You will grow from front-end WordPress builds to back-end logic, gaining exposure across the full development lifecycle in a collaborative, design-led environment.

The role is hybrid, with roughly two days per week onsite in Basingstoke. You will work alongside experienced developers and designers, building skills in HTML, SCSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, PHP, and MySQL, with a clear progression path

Qualifications

• Commercial experience in agency or in-house development preferred.
• Strong WordPress theme/plugin development experience.
• Solid knowledge of HTML5, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript, and responsive design.
• Basic SQL queries and database understanding.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating, customising, and maintaining bespoke WordPress themes and plugins.
• Turn design wireframes into clean, responsive web pages.
• Develop your skills writing clean, scalable code for HTML, SCSS, JS, and PHP.
• Learn to write and optimise SQL queries for database performance.
• Gain exposure to deployment processes, AWS, and Linux environments.
• Troubleshoot issues and fix bugs across client sites.
• Stay curious about modern web technologies and tooling.
