Job summary

The Forestry Commission Forest Services seek a dynamic individual to support Woodland Officers across the South East and London area. The role involves advising woodland owners and enforcing Forestry and Tree Health Regulations, with travel and overnight stays expected within and outside the region.

The post is a Fixed Term Appointment until 30/03/2028, with potential extension or permanency. You will help expand woodland cover and champion sustainable woodland management.

Qualifications

• Experience in forestry and/or land management.
• Ability to learn quickly and motivate others.
• Willingness to travel, with overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Expand woodland cover by championing multiple benefits for landowners and as natural capital.
• Assist Woodland Officers in designing and delivering new woodlands.
• Assist in the administration of forestry regulations and grants.
• Advise on links with legislation such as European Protected Species.
• Support woodland owners and managers against pests and diseases and climate resilience.
