Job summary

Government Recruitment Service is seeking a proactive Regulations and Incentives Support Officer to assist Woodland Officers across the South East and London. The role involves advising woodland owners, agents and stakeholders while enforcing Forestry and Tree Health Regulations.

The position requires travel with long journeys and overnight stays, and is a Fixed Term Appointment until 30/03/2028, with potential extension or permanency depending on funding and performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in forestry and/or land management preferred.
• Ability to learn quickly and inspire/motivate others.
• Willingness to travel across the South East and London area.

Responsibilities

• Support Woodland Officers in expanding woodland cover and facilitating woodland creation applications and grants.
• Assist in enforcing Forestry and Tree Health Regulations and advising on related legislation.
• Help protect existing woodlands and advise on regulations including Felling Licences and Environmental Impact Assessments.
• Engage partners, stakeholders and the public to promote the value of woodland management.
