Job summary

Talent is seeking a freelance Womenswear Designer with trend and forecasting experience to shape the Summer 2027 direction in Manchester. You’ll translate emerging lifestyle trends into commercially viable product, including colour, print, silhouette, fabrics and styling for SS27.

The ideal candidate will have strong womenswear and lifestyle experience, with proven ability to translate trends into commercial ranges and create mood boards and concepts for seasonal collections.

• Mood boards and concept development for seasonal directions.
• Ability to translate trends into commercial colour, print, fabric and silhouette directions.

Responsibilities

• Build the Summer 2027 womenswear direction and translate trends into commercially relevant product.
• Forecast SS27 across colour, print, silhouette, fabrics and styling.
• Develop mood boards and concepts aligned with brand direction.
• Contribute to range building and seasonal trend direction.

Freelance Womenswear Designer – Lifestyle / Trend

Location:

Manchester, 2–3 days per week in the office

Start:

Before Oct – immediate starters only

Our client a large UK retailer is looking for a freelance Womenswear Designer with trend and forecasting experience.

Project:

Building the Summer 2027 womenswear direction, translating emerging lifestyle/fashion trends into commercially relevant product. SS27 forecasting is already active across colour, print, silhouette, fabrics and styling, designers with genuine trend/forecasting experience rather than purely garment execution.

Need:

Strong womenswear/lifestyle background; trend research and interpretation; mood boards/concept development; colour, print, fabric and silhouette direction; ability to translate trends into commercial ranges.

Ideal background:

Lifestyle/fashion brands or retailers where you've personally worked on seasonal trend direction and range building.
