Job summary

Zachary Daniels is seeking a Senior Womenswear Designer to join our fashion brand in Greater Manchester. The role focuses on Denim, Outerwear and Leather with strong Denim experience essential, driving trend-led, commercially relevant product from concept to final garment.

You will work closely with Buying, Merchandising, Technical and the product team in a fast-paced, high-street environment, translating brand handwriting into sold-through ranges.

Qualifications

• Strong Womenswear Denim design experience is essential.
• Experience across Outerwear, PU and/or Leather would be highly advantageous.
• Strong commercial womenswear background in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent eye for trend, colour, fabric, wash, silhouette and garment detail.
• Confident working cross-functionally with Buying, Merchandising, Technical and suppliers.
• Highly organised, proactive and able to manage multiple deadlines.
• Creative, commercially minded and passionate about womenswear product.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop commercial womenswear ranges across Denim.
• Take ownership of the design process from initial concept and trend research through to final product.
• Research trends, colour, fabric, washes, shapes, details and competitor activity to identify new product opportunities.
• Work closely with Buying and Merchandising to create commercially balanced ranges.
• Use sales and product performance to identify opportunities, develop best sellers and drive newness.
• Develop strong, trend-led product while maintaining the brand handwriting and target customer.
• Create and present design concepts, mood boards, colour palettes and technical artwork.
• Attend fit sessions and coordinate with Technical and suppliers to ensure final product matches vision.
• Collaborate with supply base on fabric, wash, finish and construction.
• Stay updated with emerging trends and market developments.
• Contribute ideas across Design and Product teams.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and commercially minded Womenswear Designer to join a fast-paced and growing fashion brand.

The role will focus across Denim, Outerwear and Leather, with strong Denim experience being essential. You'll play a key role in developing trend-led, commercially relevant product, working closely with Buying, Merchandising, Technical and the wider product team from initial concept through to final product.

This is a great opportunity for a designer who is passionate about product, understands the womenswear customer and enjoys working in a fast-paced, highly commercial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop commercial womenswear ranges across Denim.
• Take ownership of the design process from initial concept and trend research through to final product.
• Research trends, colour, fabric, washes, shapes, details and competitor activity to identify new product opportunities.
• Work closely with Buying and Merchandising to create commercially balanced ranges aligned to customer and trading requirements.
• Use sales and product performance to identify opportunities, develop best sellers and drive newness.
• Develop strong, trend-led product while maintaining a clear understanding of the brand handwriting and target customer.
• Create and present design concepts, mood boards, colour palettes and technical artwork.
• Attend fit sessions and work closely with Technical and suppliers to ensure the final product delivers against the original design vision.
• Work closely with the supply base throughout the development process, particularly around fabric, wash, finish and garment construction.
• Stay up to date with emerging trends, competitor activity and market developments across womenswear.
• Contribute ideas and creative insight across the wider Design and Product teams.

About You

• Strong Womenswear Denim design experience is essential.
• Experience across Outerwear, PU and/or Leather would be highly advantageous.
• Strong commercial womenswear background, ideally within a fast-paced high street, online or fashion-led environment.
• Excellent eye for trend, colour, fabric, wash, silhouette and garment detail.
• Confident working cross-functionally with Buying, Merchandising, Technical and suppliers.
• Strong Adobe Creative Suite skills, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator/InDesign.
• Highly organised, proactive and able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Creative, commercially minded and genuinely passionate about womenswear product.
