Job summary

Dobson Welch Recruitment Specialists is working with a central London fashion business to hire a Mid weight Womenswear Designer. You will lead design and development for a premium jersey-driven brand, collaborating with cross-functional teams and suppliers across markets.

The role requires UK experience, a strong jersey background, and the ability to present concepts to buyers. Office-based with flexible hours, based in London.

Womenswear Designer

Location : London

Salary to £45k + bens

We are working with a growing successful fashion business in central London to add a Mid weight Womenswear to their design team of over 20 and work on a key premium womenswear brand of theirs . The brand is very much a casual Gen Z brand , mainly jersey product covering fashion and lifestyle sportswear

The role

Leading the design and product development of a key in womenswear brand covering multi product

Dealing with it's commercial relevance, and strong market performance.

Managing the full design lifecycle, from initial research and concept development, final technical packs to final SMS samples. Developing cohesive product ranges across multiple categories while maintaining aesthetic and quality standards.

Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, buying, merchandising, licensors, and international suppliers.

Souring seasonal fabrics, trims and collaborating with far East Asian and South Asian mills, factories, and suppliers.

Overseeing fabric, trim, and print development to deliver value-driven, on-brand collections.

Ensuring all designs meet cost targets and production timelines across diverse global markets.

Help present seasonal collections to buyers from the UK and Poland.

Must haves to be shortlisted

• We are looking for a Mid weight Womenswear designer looking to move to senior in the next 12 months


• Womenswear Design experience must be recent ( UK experience ) and be either supply background or young fast fashion background


• Solid Jersey experience and strong portfolio in hand


• First class communications skills ( verbal and written )


• Must be dynamic and have a \"can do attitude\" , you will be asked sometimes to work on other brands so being flexible to key


• London based ( or commutable within an hour ) and eligible to work in the UK


• The role is office based , no WFH but there is flexible working hours
