Job summary

The Forward Trust in Southend-on-Sea is seeking a Recovery Support Practitioner for a permanent, full-time role (35 hours per week) with a salary of GBP 26,000 per annum. You will join a dynamic recovery team, working with the BRiC Coordinator and partners to deliver person-centred recovery support across the wider Southend area.

You will carry a small caseload, deliver 1:1 sessions and group work, facilitate lived experience workshops, support housing, benefits and employment access, and

Qualifications

• Passion for recovery: focused, community-based support.
• Ability to work confidently in a multi-agency environment.
• Strong relationship-building and motivational skills.
• Understanding of harm reduction and abstinence-based approaches.
• Organised, reflective and committed to professional development.
• Experience in recovery services or lived experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry a small caseload of recovery support clients.
• Deliver 1:1 sessions, group work, and structured recovery interventions.
• Facilitate welcome PODS and lived experience workshops.
• Support recovery groups and service user involvement activities.
• Work with partners to develop community recovery pathways.
• Support assessments, care planning, and harm reduction approaches.
• Help clients access housing, benefits, training, and employment support.
• Contribute to outcome-focused targets and service improvement.
