Job summary

SLB in Aberdeen (Offshore) is seeking a Wireline Operator to support and execute offshore wireline operations safely and efficiently.

You will be part of a wireline crew involved in preparation, rig-up, operation and troubleshooting of wireline equipment, ensuring safety, service quality and performance, with data acquisition support both offshore and onshore.

Responsibilities

• Execute wireline operations safely and efficiently to client specs.

• Support downhole data acquisition and recording.
• Conduct inspections, testing, and troubleshooting for readiness.
• Participate in pre-job planning and risk assessments.
• Keep accurate job documentation and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures.
• Support mobilisation/demobilisation onshore and offshore.
• Assist senior crew and field specialists during complex operations.

Job Summary:

The Wireline Operator is responsible for supporting and executing offshore wireline operations safely and efficiently.

You will play a key role in delivering wireline services across exploration, appraisal, development, intervention, and production operations. Working as part of a wireline crew, you will be involved in the preparation, maintenance, rig-up, operation, and troubleshooting of wireline equipment whilst ensuring the highest standards of safety, service quality, and operational performance.

You will support data acquisition activities, contribute to successful job execution, and provide technical support both offshore and onshore.

Responsibilities:

• Execute wireline operations safely and efficiently in accordance with customer requirements, company procedures, and industry standards.
• Assist with the rig-up, operation, and rig-down of wireline units and associated pressure control equipment.
• Operate and maintain wireline equipment, tools, winches, logging systems, depth measurement systems, and surface instrumentation.
• Support wireline data acquisition activities and ensure the accurate collection and recording of downhole data.
• Perform equipment inspections, maintenance, function testing, and troubleshooting to ensure operational readiness.
• Participate in pre-job planning, risk assessments, toolbox talks, and job safety analyses.
• Maintain accurate operational records and complete job documentation and reporting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with company HSE policies, customer requirements, and wellsite procedures.
• Support mobilisation and demobilisation activities both onshore and offshore.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and maintain high standards of service quality.
• Assist senior crew members and Wireline Field Specialists during complex operations and tool deployments.

Essential Requirements:

• Previous experience in offshore wireline operations.
• Experience operating and maintaining wireline equipment and systems.
• Strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
• Ability to work offshore assignments.
• The right to work in the UK.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with electric line (E-Line) and/or slickline operations.
• Knowledge of pressure control equipment and well intervention practices.
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly and confidently with customers and colleagues.
• Be eager to deliver results and meet operational objectives.
• Remain positive during pressure, setbacks, and fast-paced operational environments.
