Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a medical registrar/SHO to join the geriatrics team on an OPU ward and the Hospital at Home service in Bath. You will review inpatients under geriatricians and have opportunities to gain outpatient experience in general or specialist clinics.

The role involves standard days, with potential on-call or weekend duties, and active involvement in rehabilitation and discharge planning.

Responsabilidades

• Regular review and management of inpatients on the ward under the supervision of geriatricians.
• Opportunity to gain outpatient experience in general or specialist clinics.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) including consultants, SHOs, nurse practitioners, physician associates and therapists.
• Involvement in rehabilitation and discharge planning for patients.
• Possible participation in the general medical registrar on-call rota and occasional weekend duties.
• 40-hour week with hours typically 08:00–17:00; potential weekend commitments on a 1:6 or 1:4 rota depending on service line.

You will work on one of our OPU wards and the Hospital at Home team with their team of geriatric consultants, SHOs, specialist Medical Nurse Practitioners, Physician Associates and therapists. Depending on the situation with the COVID pandemic you may be responsible for patients with COVID or a cohort of COVID contacts.

You will be responsible for the regular review and management of the inpatients on your ward or caseload under the supervision of the geriatricians. There will also be opportunity to gain outpatients experience in general or specialist clinics. The post involves working standard days Monday to Friday, with the option of participation in the general medical registrar on-call rota. or with a requirement to work 1:6 weekends (time to be taken back during the week) in the Hospital at Home team or 1:4 weekends on the core wards supporting the OPUSS weekend rota. Working hours will be 40 across the week working between 08:00 to 17:00.

You will be part of the multidisciplinary team arranging ongoing rehabilitation and discharge. You will be expected to have very good communication skills and communicate regularly with the MDT, patients and their relatives.
