Job description

The Trust provides acute treatment and care for a catchment population of around 500,000 people in Bath, and the surrounding towns and villages in North East Somerset and West Wiltshire. Our values; Everyone Matters, Working Together, Making a Difference, represent our aspiration for the type of hospitals we want to be and you can join our dedicated and talented staff to make this happen., To work in all sections of the pharmacy department, as well as with partner organisations on a rotational basis under the management of the section manager and be fully trained in these areas by the section manager.

  • These areas include trust operational teams, mental health services, in-patients, dispensary, homecare services, medicines information, aseptic department and chemotherapy satellite unit.
  • To clinically assess patients' medication charts on a daily basis on a designated ward, obtain accurate medication histories, assess discharge prescriptions and participate in discharge planning for all patients on designated ward.
  • To clinically assess and dispense prescriptions in all sections of the department including TPN, Chemotherapy, and radiopharmaceuticals according to standard operating procedures and policies.
  • To provide a final check on prescriptions dispensed by pharmacy technicians, assistants and pharmacy students.
