Job summary

Airbus Operations Limited in Filton (UK) is seeking engineers to join the Wing Loads and Aeroelastics team. You will calculate and analyse external wing loads for major Airbus programmes, from concept to certification, collaborating with Flight Physics and Airframe teams.

The role emphasizes readiness to work across disciplines, apply data analytics and Model Based Systems Engineering, and support flight test campaigns to validate load calculations, with a focus on safety and sustainability.

Qualifications

• Engineering/STEM degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of flight physics.
• Familiarity with Airframe disciplines, particularly static stress or Fatigue & Damage Tolerance.
• Excellent communication, team working and interpersonal skills.
• An interest in finding creative solutions and willingness to learn and share knowledge.
• Ability to develop effective customer relationships.
• A high regard for quality compliance and attention to detail.
• Basic project management experience.
• Negotiation level in English.
• Familiarity with Python, NASTRAN, HyperWorks, Linux and/or MATLAB will help.

Responsibilities

• Establish requirements for FEM loading and wing airframe design.
• Calculate, interpret and deliver static and fatigue external loads on wing components.
• Support airframe design teams with the load data.
• Support flight test campaigns to validate load calculations.
• Acquire competencies related to new technologies such as data analytics, MBSE, AI.
• Continuously improve quality, processes, methods and tools.
• Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.
• Contribute to aircraft optimization and manage technical risk.
