Job summary

Talantir is seeking a Lead Windows Server Administrator for a 6-month contract in Winchester, onsite 1 day/week. The role requires ownership of Windows server estate, hands-on technical delivery, and strategic input to infrastructure services. IR35 Inside, rate £450 per day.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years’ IT infrastructure experience, strong automation scripting skills, and proven success in deploying new technologies, with excellent stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, MIS, Business, or equivalent practical experience
• 7+ years’ experience in IT infrastructure / systems administration
• Experience with scripting and automation (e.g. backups, file transfers, configuration)
• Demonstrated success implementing new technologies
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver complex, integrated infrastructure solutions aligned to business needs
• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Windows-based virtualization platforms (e.g. Azure Local / Hypervisor environments)
• Maintain and optimise core services including servers, storage, email, file, and collaboration platforms
• Proactively monitor system performance, capacity, and resilience to minimise risk
