Job summary

Rubix is seeking a skilled engineering technician in Portsmouth to join our UK team. You will wind and rewind LV/HV motors, perform static testing, and manufacture coils to exacting standards in our specialist facilities or on customer sites.

You will provide job records, timekeeping reports and inspections, ensuring compliance with 5S principles and site procedures. Occasional on-call, shift work and site support are required to meet service levels.

Qualifications

• Completed formal winding training (e.g., indentured apprenticeship, NVQ, BTEC or equivalent).
• On-time delivery of activity is tracked in the system.
• Work completed to site specification standards with zero non-conformance.
• Work completed within the specified time period as allocated by the system.
• Work area must comply with 5S cleanliness standards.

Responsibilities

• Wind and rewind LV/HV motors per site specifications.
• Complete motor electrical static testing.
• Manufacture LV/HV coils to required standards.
• Provide inspection, job records and timekeeping reports per Rubix UKII policies.
• Support other job functions, including site work and workshop tasks.
• Active participation in on-call rota, shift work and overtime as needed to maintain service levels.

About the Role:

• Work to Rubix UKII HSEQ policies and procedures.
• Complete all necessary motor electrical static testing.
• Complete the manufacture of LV/HV coils.
• Complete the rewind of LV/HV motors.
• Provide all necessary inspection, job record and timekeeping reports throughout the job process, in line with Rubix UKII policies and procedures.
• Support other job functions as requested by supervision, including site work and operating in other engineering workshops.
• Active participation in on call rota, shift working and overtime requests to ensure service levels are maintained.

Key Skills, Experience & Requirements:
