Job summary

Gattaca is seeking an experienced wind turbine maintenance technician to perform proactive servicing, fault diagnosis, and repairs across multiple turbine platforms, ensuring safety and reliability.

You will work in a small team with minimal supervision, travel to sites as required, operate SCADA and diagnostic tools, maintain comprehensive maintenance records, and uphold HSSE standards to maximise energy production.

Qualifications

• Qualified to a mechanical or electrical discipline at HNC/ONC/NVQ level or equivalent.
• Full GWO certification including Enhanced First Aid and Advanced Rescue.
• Proven wind turbine operation, maintenance and troubleshooting experience.
• Strong technical background with diagnostic tools including hydraulic systems, inductive heaters and electrical test instruments.
• Sound HSSE understanding and safe working practices.
• Self-motivated with a commitment to performance and continuous improvement.
• Experience fault finding and maintenance across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and power electronics.
• Ability to work independently and in a small team; willingness to travel to other sites.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance and servicing of wind turbines and balance of plant equipment, including scheduled servicing, reactive and preventative maintenance, inspections, modifications, retrofits, and major component replacements.
• Work effectively within a small team with minimal supervision.
• Adopt a proactive approach to minimise equipment failures and maximise energy production.
• Utilise SCADA and other computer-based systems to diagnose faults, reset alarms, initiate maintenance activities, and maintain fault history records.
• Maintain flexibility regarding working hours to accommodate weather conditions, workload, on-call requirements, and travel to alternative sites.
• Keep accurate electronic and paper-based maintenance records for all work completed.
• Support all areas of site operations, including projects, spare parts management, and non-routine maintenance activities.
• Adhere to HSSE procedures and management systems and identify safety improvements.
