Job summary

Uniper is seeking an influential Development Manager for wind development in the UK to shape and accelerate our journey toward delivering renewable energy. You will lead end-to-end development, manage key partnerships and ensure commercial viability across the UK and Ireland, with a focus in the UK market.

The role requires experience in utility-scale wind and storage development, strong regulatory understanding, and the ability to drive projects through feasibility to Final Investment Decision

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of utility-scale wind projects across the UK and Ireland, ensuring commercial viability and progression through development milestones.
• Manage full project development lifecycle from origination through Final Investment Decision (FD), including greenfield and acquired opportunities.
• Coordinate land agreements, permitting, environmental assessments, stakeholder engagement and grid connection activities.
• Oversee external development partners, consultants and contract developers to meet objectives, schedules and budgets.
• Lead project design and consenting activities, including environmental assessments and planning applications.
• Support business development and due diligence, assessing maturity, risks and value creation opportunities.
• Monitor regulatory, planning and market developments to keep projects compliant and competitive.
• Build strong relationships with landowners, authorities, grid operators and other external parties.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Asset Operations, Commercial and other internal teams to ensure smooth progression to construction and operation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and best practices across renewables.
