Position Summary:

We are seeking a Wind Blade Chemist for our Research and Development department. The candidate should have experience in industrial paints/coatings. The position is based in Newcastle, UK, or open to relocation. Other locations may be considered case by case. The role reports to the R&D Director of Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare project requests or research proposals.
  • Develop new products, conduct investigations, and apply creative problem-solving and formulation skills.
  • Execute laboratory projects, assess effectiveness, develop findings, draw conclusions, and present reports.
  • Contribute to research programs through communication and participation in technical teams.
  • Meet project goals within time, quality, and budget constraints, proactively keeping projects on track.
  • Coordinate work of team members, anticipate and resolve conflicts.
  • Maintain technical expertise in wind blade industry and technologies.
  • Communicate technical information effectively to departments, suppliers, and customers.
  • Adhere to safety and quality standards.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years experience in R&D related to wind blade coatings.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Science and Technology, or Polymer Science.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and solve problems effectively.
  • Proficiency in computer applications including spreadsheets, databases, and internet tools.
