Position Summary:

Carboline is seeking a Wind Blade Chemist for the Research and Development department joining our team. We are seeking candidates with experience in industrial paints/coatings. The ideal candidate will be located in Newcastle, UK or open to reallocate to the area. Other potential locations considered on a case by case basis.

This position will report to the R&D Director of Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare project requests or research proposals on assigned projects.
• Create ideas and develop new products and conduct investigations. Apply creative approach to problem solving and formulation.
• Execute laboratory projects and continuously assess effectiveness.Develop research findings, draw conclusions, and make recommendations. Prepare and present written or oral reports.
• Contribute to research programs of others through communications and participation in technical work groups and design teams.
• Responsible for meeting project goals within time, quality and budget constraints.Utilize initiative to keep projects on track.
• Coordinate work of others, anticipate, and resolve priority conflicts.
• Acquire and maintain technical expertise in wind blade industry and its technologies.
• Communicate and verify technical information directly to various departments, suppliers or customers.
• Committed to the Company’s safety and quality programs.

Requirements:

• 7+ years experience in R&D laboratory developing wind blade coatings products
• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry / Chemical Science and Technology / Polymer Science
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, to customers and colleagues.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and problem-solving ability
• Computer literacy, including spreadsheet, database, word processing and Internet applications
