Job summary

EGGER UK in Hexham is seeking a Warehouse Operator for a 6-month fixed-term contract within Materials Management and Logistics. You will process and pick orders, despatch on time, and work as part of the Pick and Pack team.

The role requires teamwork, accuracy, and basic IT skills with warehouse systems; shifts are 06:00–14:00 and 14:00–22:00, Monday to Friday. On-site benefits include a competitive pension and supportive development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must have basic IT skills and be competent with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems preferred.
• Experience in a Pick-Pack environment preferred.
• Fork Lift Truck experience preferred.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Able to collaborate well as part of a team.
• Good standard of communication skills.
• Able to work a rotating weekly shift pattern of 06:00 - 14:00 and 14:00 - 22:00, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Process and pick orders with accuracy, package correctly and despatch on time.

• Operate as a member of the Warehouse team in the Pick and Pack Warehouses.
• Ensure all Company property / equipment is used and maintained with due care and attention.
• Ensure stock and work areas are maintained in a clean, tidy and organised condition.
• Assist with stock rotation and stock checks.
• Ensure incoming materials are processed in an efficient and timely manner.
• Assist with projects as required by the WHM / Pick and Pack Shift Supervisor or WHM / Shipping Manager.
• Ensure all safety precautions are taken and that safety equipment is in good order.
• Operation and related tasks conducted safely and any incidents reported.
• Observe and comply with the Quality Systems.
• Attend training courses deemed necessary.
• Provide out-of-hours support as required.

Your Tasks

• Process and pick orders with the utmost care and accuracy, package correctly and despatch on time in line with customers’ requirements.
• Advise the WHM / Pick and Pack Shift Supervisor of any problems.
• Operate as a member of the Warehouse team in the Pick and Pack Warehouses.
• Ensure all Company property / equipment is used and maintained with due care and attention.
• Ensure that stock and work areas are maintained in a clean, tidy and organised condition.
• Assist with the organisation and stock rotation of all products held within the department, supporting stock checks and validation.
• Ensure incoming materials are processed in an efficient and timely manner.
• Assist with any projects as required by the WHM / Pick and Pack Shift Supervisor or WHM / Shipping Manager.
• Ensure all safety precautions as detailed in the Health and Safety procedures are taken and that safety equipment is in good order and used at all times.
• Ensure that the operation and related tasks are conducted in a safe working manner and that any incidents / accidents and hazards are duly reported.
• Observe and comply with the Company Quality Systems as detailed in the Quality Manual at all times.
• Attend training courses deemed necessary for this position
• Provide out-of-hours support as required.
