Job summary

Currys PLC in Stevenage is seeking a White Goods Engineer to install, diagnose faults and repair appliances at customers' homes. The role covers London postcodes and is permanent, full-time with a salary of £33,000–£38,000 per year, rising to £36,000–£40,000 for Gas qualified.

You’ll drive a company van, work largely alone, and build strong customer rapport while testing and fixing white goods. Required: UK/EU driving licence (max 6 points).

Qualifications

• Proven experience in White Goods repairs (home appliance diagnostics and repairs).
• Full UK/EU driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
• ACS Qualifications (or equivalent) in Essential Gas Safety Domestic (CCN1), Gas Cookers and Ranges (CKR1) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive the company van and manage day-to-day schedule, mostly working independently.
• Test, diagnose and fix white goods in customers' homes.
• Provide and apply technical knowledge across a range of white goods appliances.
• Help build Currys’ reputation as a home services expert.

Shift Pattern : 5 over 7 days ( 41 working hours per week)
Areas covered : London EN,N,HA,NW postcodes, SG, AL, WD, LU, MK, PE, NN postcodes

Role overview:

As part of this role, you'll be responsible for:

• Driving your company van and managing your own day effectively (as you'll work mainly on your own).
• Testing, diagnosing and fixing white goods in our customers' homes.
• Providing and implementing technical knowledge across a range of white goods appliances.
• Building up our reputation as a home services expert.

A lot of the job comes down to skill and efficiency, but building a rapport with customers is just as important. They will welcome you into their homes, and it'll be down to you to get their products back on track and put their minds at ease.

You will need:

• Proven experience in White Goods repairs.
• Full UK/EU driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Ideally (but not essential) ACS Qualifications (or equivalent) in Essential Gas Safety Domestic (CCN1), Gas Cookers and Ranges (CKR1).
