Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) seeks a technically skilled supervisor for the WestMARC Seating and Wheelchair Service at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. The post holder works within a small workshop and reports to the Technical Services Manager in a permanent, full-time capacity.

You will oversee wheelchair configurations, supervise technicians, and collaborate with clinical staff to ensure safe delivery and repair of equipment.

Qualifications

• Educated to SCQF Level 8 / SVQ Level 4 / HND in a technical discipline or equivalent knowledge.
• Relevant supervisory and technical experience.
• Experience using Microsoft 365 applications.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage difficult situations and time-sensitive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise to the WestMARC Seating and Wheelchair Service.
• Manage configuration and modification of complex manual and powered wheelchairs by technicians.
• Oversee repair of wheelchairs and simple seating equipment.
• Maintain communication with clinical and technical staff for efficient delivery and repair.
• Instruct carers and users in safe equipment use per manufacturer guidance.

Education

SCQF Level 8 / SVQ Level 4 / HND (technical discipline)
