Job summary

Ross Care in Bedford is seeking a Workshop/Bench Engineer to repair, service and maintain wheelchairs in a workshop environment. You will handle repairs, paperwork, warranty items, and stock control from Stores, while following infection control and RCQP procedures.

Role involves training with potential on-call rota after completion and a commitment to high standards of workmanship; Full Driving Licence preferred and a DBS disclosure is required.

Qualifications

• GCSE level or NVQ level 1 or equivalent is preferred.
• Full Driving Licence preferred.
• Satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure is required.

Responsibilities

• Repair, service and maintain wheelchairs in a workshop setting.
• Complete all paperwork related to repairs and servicing daily.
• Label and collate warranty and scrap returns at day end.
• Follow infection control policy at all times.
• Perform service, repairs and refurbishment per prescriptions.
• Assist in clinical appointments with healthcare professionals as needed.
• Carry out admin duties and ensure parts are booked from Stores.
• Adhere to RCQP procedures and housekeeping standards.
• Be ready to join the on-call rota after training.
