Job summary

Rosscare is seeking a Workshop/Bench Engineer in Bedford to repair, service and maintain wheelchairs from a well-equipped workshop. The role requires managing paperwork, following infection control, ensuring parts are sourced through Stores, and adhering to RCQP procedures.

The position runs Monday to Friday, full-time, with after-training on-call duties and a commitment to accurate documentation and customer service. Training will be provided for wheelchair engineering tasks.

Qualifications

• Organised and can follow a plan
• Good communicator capable of clear briefs and updates
• Must be able to fault find faults in mechanical/electrical systems
• Neat and tidy writing for documentation and reports

Responsibilities

• Repairing, servicing and maintaining wheelchairs in a workshop setting.
• Process repair and service paperwork daily.
• Label and manage warranty and scrap returns.
• Follow infection control policies at all times.
• Undertake engineering work including service, repairs and refurbishments as required.
• Assist in clinical appointments for repairs and servicing.
• Carry out administrative duties as needed.
• Ensure parts are allocated from Stores and handled per procedures.
• Follow Ross Care’s operational procedures and upkeep House Keeping standards.
• Join the on-call rota after training and maintain professional performance.
