Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is looking for an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a friendly primary school in Weymouth. You will support teachers, deliver planned learning activities and work with pupils individually and in small groups.

The role is a fixed-term contract for one year, starting ASAP. The successful candidate will be confident in managing groups, promoting positive behaviour and helping pupils reach their potential within an inclusive, nurturing environment.

• An existing HLTA qualification or significant relevant experience within a school setting would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning across the primary curriculum.
• Lead learning activities and lessons when required.
• Work with pupils on a one-to-one and small-group basis.
• Support children to develop confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours.
• Work closely with class teachers to plan and deliver effective learning activities.
• Provide targeted support to pupils who require additional help.
• Help monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement.
• Support pupils with their academic, social and emotional development.
• Help create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
• Work effectively with teaching assistants and other members of the school team.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
• Take responsibility for classroom activities and groups when required.
