Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a Weymouth-based Reception team from after October half term. You will support children with learning, routines and social development, primarily in Reception, working one-to-one and in small groups.

Experience in Early Years or KS1 is preferred; DBS Update Service is advantageous. You will collaborate with teachers and staff to create an inclusive, positive classroom environment and help children reach their

Are you a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity in Weymouth?

A lovely school in the Weymouth area is looking for a General Classroom Teaching Assistant to join their team from after October half term. The successful candidate will be based primarily within Reception, supporting children with their learning, development and day-to-day classroom routines.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young children and wants to become part of a welcoming and supportive school environment.

The Role

• Supporting pupils with their learning and development.
• Working with children on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
• Helping to create a positive, engaging and inclusive classroom environment.
• Supporting children's social, emotional and communication development.
• Assisting with classroom activities and daily routines.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and independence.
• Working collaboratively with teachers and other members of staff.
• Supporting the general needs of the Reception classroom.

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience working within Early Years or KS1 is preferable.
• Caring, patient and enthusiastic when working with young children.
• Confident supporting children both independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, proactive and adaptable.
• Passionate about helping children achieve their full potential.
• Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational setting is desirable.
• A DBS registered on the Update Service is preferable, although candidates without one may still be considered subject to the relevant safeguarding checks.
