Job summary

Cole & Yates Recruitment Ltd, recruiting on behalf of a well-established play and sports surfacing specialist, seeks a Wetpour Mixer for outdoor projects across the UK. You will join a practical, experienced team delivering high-quality installations.

The role requires measuring and mixing rubber granules with binder, loading materials, and supporting screeders on site. DBS checks are required for school sites, and CSCS or a driving licence is advantageous.

• Willingness to complete Enhanced DBS check because work includes school sites.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Wetpour Installation Team Leader on projects across the UK.
• Measure and mix rubber granules and binder using forced-action or pan mixers.
• Load, unload, move and prepare tools and materials.
• Support the screeders during pouring, levelling, trowelling and finishing.
• Help with site preparation, edges, masking, cleaning and housekeeping.
• Keep mixing equipment, tools and work areas clean and organised.

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established specialist in play and sports surfacing who are offering a genuine long-term opportunity to join a practical, experienced team delivering high-quality outdoor projects across the UK.

Candidates may currently be working under titles such as Wetpour Mixer, Mixer Operative, Mixer Man, Rubber Mixer, Rubber Crumb Mixer, EPDM Mixer, SBR Mixer, Resin Mixer, Forced-Action Mixer Operative, Pan Mixer Operative, Surfacing Operative, Surfacing Labourer, Playground Installation Operative, Playground Installer, Installation Operative, Site Operative, Site Labourer, Construction Labourer, Groundworks Labourer or Screeder Mate.

What you will be doing

• Work alongside the Wetpour Installation Team Leader and Wetpour Installer / Screeder on projects across the UK.
  
• Measure and mix rubber granules and binder using forced-action or pan mixers.
  
• Load, unload, move and prepare tools and materials.
  
• Support the screeders during pouring, levelling, trowelling and finishing.
  
• Help with site preparation, edges, masking, cleaning and housekeeping.
  
• Keep mixing equipment, tools and work areas clean and organised.
  

Requirements

• Practical construction, groundworks, landscaping, surfacing, playground-installation or outdoor site experience.
  
• A reliable, practical approach and ability to work well in a small team.
  
• Good attention to safe working practices and accurate material preparation.
  
• Willingness to travel countrywide and stay away when required.
  
• Willingness to complete the appropriate Enhanced DBS check because the work includes school sites.
  

Useful additional experience

• Wetpour, rubber crumb, resin-bound, artificial-grass or playground-surfacing experience.
  
• Experience using a CreteAngle, Baron or another forced-action or pan mixer.
  
• A current CSCS card and full UK driving licence are useful but not essential.
  

Package and working pattern

Monday to Friday. Full-time, permanent PAYE. Flexibility is required to travel across the UK and stay away from home for all or part of the working week when projects require it. Candidates must also be able to travel to the wider Solihull area for team, vehicle and warehouse requirements. The exact premises will be shared with suitable candidates.

• 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
  
• Paid hotel accommodation and a daily subsistence allowance when staying away.
  
• For longer stays, Airbnb or similar self-contained accommodation may be arranged, with a kitchen, living room and bedroom.
