Job summary

LGBT Jobs is seeking a Careers Adviser / Trainee Careers Adviser (Welsh Essential) for Newport. The role focuses on guiding individuals to enter or re-enter the labour market through assessment, guidance and tailored support.

Full‑time roles (37 hours) across South East and North East Wales; Welsh language skills are essential. You will collaborate with training providers, Jobcentre Plus and employers to help customers progress into education, training or sustained employment.

Qualifications

• Welsh language skills are essential for these roles.
• Enhanced DBS Disclosure is required.
• Trainee Careers Advisers must hold a degree (or equivalent) and will complete the Level 6 Diploma as part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Support young people and adults to enter or re-enter the labour market through assessment, guidance and tailored support.
• Collaborate with local and national partners such as training providers, Jobcentre Plus, prisons, youth offending teams, employers and other organisations.
• Use a range of tools, including one-to-one support, group employability sessions and digital presentations.
