Job summary

Supply Hive Wales is seeking a Welsh-speaking Teaching Assistant for a full-time position in a Welsh-medium primary school in Newport. You will support pupils in Welsh, both in class and small groups, helping them build confidence in speaking, reading and writing.

There is no required TA qualification; we will discuss your experience and fit before registration. An Enhanced DBS, ideally on the Update Service, is preferred.

Qualifications

• Confident speaking Welsh with children.
• Experience with children, whether in a school, nursery, club or similar.
• No TA qualification needed – we'll chat through your experience and suitability before you register.
• An Enhanced DBS, ideally on the Update Service.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils through the medium of Welsh, in class and in small groups.
• Helping children build confidence speaking, reading and writing in Welsh.
• Working with the class teacher to keep lessons running smoothly.
• Looking after pupils' wellbeing at break, lunch and through the school day.
