Coleg Gwent invites applications for a Lead Practitioner who will work across the college to help teaching staff and learners use Welsh with more confidence. The role focuses on removing obstacles through learner-centred methods and making Welsh practical in everyday teaching and workplace settings.

The post is a 37-hour, full-time position in a bilingual environment, requiring EWC registration or equivalent and a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Understanding of language acquisition and Welsh language promotion.
• Experience supporting staff at different levels in a bilingual setting.
• Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Support and encourage confident use of Welsh among teaching staff and learners across the organisation
• Promote the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion
• Build confidence and remove psychological and practical barriers to using Welsh
• Encourage greater use of Welsh through learner-centred approaches
• Make Welsh accessible, relevant and practical in teaching, learning and workplace contexts
• Work collaboratively to contribute to a dynamic bilingual culture

Skills

Excellent communication skills

Ability to make Welsh accessible in/te

Education

A Level or Level 3 in Welsh or related subject

Teaching qualification such as a PGCE for lecturers
