Job summary

Coleg Gwent is seeking a Lead Practitioner for Welsh Language and Equality to champion Welsh language use and inclusive practice across the organisation. The role involves supporting and motivating staff and learners, with a focus on practical language use in daily teaching and work contexts.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a passion for Welsh language promotion and the ability to collaborate across teams in a bilingual culture.

Qualifications

• Must have A Level or Level 3 Welsh qualification.
• Lecturers must hold a teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE).
• Safeguarding: Enhanced DBS check and EWC registration required.

Responsibilities

• Support and stimulate confident use of Welsh among staff and learners.
• Promote Equality, Diversity and Inclusion across the organisation.
• Develop confidence and remove barriers to Welsh language use in teaching and workplace contexts.
• Make Welsh language accessible, relevant and practical in daily activities.
