TeacherActive is recruiting a Welsh Language Coach for a fantastic further education college in Swansea. The role focuses on promoting bilingualism, mentoring learners and encouraging Welsh use in academic settings.

The post is permanent, full-time, with a competitive hourly rate of £14.45–£16.20. An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service is an essential requirement.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Welsh with excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience promoting the Welsh language and mentoring young people.
• Experience supporting learners through one-to-one sessions, target setting and group activities.
• Confidence communicating with learners, parents/carers, academic staff and external organisations.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging sessions that encourage bilingual learning.
• Essential requirement: Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.

Responsibilities

• Providing one-to-one mentoring and setting achievable learning targets.
• Planning and delivering engaging group sessions to encourage Welsh language use.
• Monitoring Welsh-medium work and supporting learners to build confidence.
• Motivating and inspiring learners to use Welsh throughout their studies.
• Working closely with lecturing staff and Learning Area Managers to promote bilingual learning across the college.

What will you be doing?

As a Welsh Language Coach, you will play a key role in promoting bilingualism and helping learners develop their Welsh language skills. Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing one-to-one mentoring and setting achievable learning targets.
• Planning and delivering engaging group sessions to encourage Welsh language use.
• Monitoring Welsh-medium work and supporting learners to build confidence.

What we're looking for
