Job summary

Barnardo's Cymru seeks a Welsh-speaking Family Link Worker to support parents and carers across Wales. The role is primarily remote with some face-to-face meetings, and occasional evening/weekend work to meet family needs.

The post is a Welsh Essential Project Worker 2, offering hybrid working and a focus on engaging families with workshops, parenting programmes, and other services. You will assess needs, provide guidance, and signpost to local and national services.

Qualifications

• Fluent in Welsh and English for effective communication.
• Experience delivering family support or parenting interventions.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
• Experience facilitating groups, in person or virtual.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Comfort with using digital tools and online platforms.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support to parents and carers via telephone, video call and other virtual methods.
• Build positive relationships with families and identify barriers to engagement with services.
• Support families to access Cymru Virtual Family Space workshops, programmes and resources.
• Help families develop confidence in participating in virtual groups and increase digital skills.
• Undertake brief assessments to identify needs and appropriate support options.
• Provide information, guidance and signposting to local and national services.
• Maintain accurate records in line with Barnardo's policies.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a seamless, supportive journey for families.
• Promote the service and contribute to outreach across Wales.
• Occasional weekend and evening working.
