Job summary

The Communications Assistant (Welsh Speaking) in Swansea is a 9-month maternity cover role, 35 hours per week, with hybrid working options. You will support the organisation across communications duties including content creation in English and Welsh, social media monitoring, and stakeholder engagement.

Applicants should be fluent in Welsh and English, have a communications or marketing qualification preferred, and strong proofreading and translation skills.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate confidently in Welsh and English, both written and spoken.
• Communications or marketing qualification preferred.
• Experience in the communications area of marketing is essential.
• Accurate proofreading and translation between Welsh and English.
• Ability to create Welsh/English content, digital content, and short videos.
• Strong IT skills including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and WordPress.
• Experience with social media tools and digital communications.
• Customer care focus and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide admin support across projects, attend meetings, take notes, and manage follow-ups.
• Draft English and Welsh content for presentations, press releases, and briefs.
• Monitor social media and news feeds for relevant stories.
• Maintain partner relationships via multiple communication channels.
• Support website/content updates and banking of images for reports.
• Assist with production of reports with external agencies and proofreading.
• Offer cover for colleagues and handle other duties as needed.
