Job summary

City Skills is seeking a WELLSTUDENT Coach - SEMH to support students with social, emotional and mental health needs on a fixed-term basis. You will manage a caseload and provide targeted support to help learners feel safe, understood and connected within the college community.

Working 36 hours per week during term time, you will use relational, student-centred approaches to reduce barriers to learning and help students progress toward their adult outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Caseload management experience with SEMH learners.
  • Ability to support students with EHCP plans.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build trust with pupils.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of SEMH students and provide targeted support.
  • Use student-centred approaches to promote emotional wellbeing.

Salary: £24,770 - £27,231 (Pro rata salary - £21,954 - £24,136.)Incremental progression throughout the band is available.

Contract Type: Term Time Only - Fixed Term until 31/07/2027| Hours per Week: 36 | Location: City Skills, Frederick Rd, Manchester, Salford M6 6QH

About the Role

We are looking for committed, enthusiastic individual to join our team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work directly with young people who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

You will be responsible for a caseload of students, providing targeted support to help them feel safe, understood, and connected within the college community. Through relational, student-centred approaches, you will build strong and professional relationships that promote emotional wellbeing. Your role will focus on identifying and reducing barriers to learning, enabling students to fully engage with their education and work toward their Preparation for Adult outcomes and aspirations.
