Job summary

Virgin Active is seeking a General Manager to lead the overall operations and performance of the club, inspire the team, drive member satisfaction, and ensure the highest standards of safety, service and brand excellence every day.

You will own the club’s commercial performance, drive membership growth and retention, manage budgets and KPIs, and collaborate with support teams to deliver the reimagined club experience across our social wellness vision, fostering a vibrant, safe and welcoming

Qualifications

• Previous GM/Club Manager/Senior Operations Manager experience in hospitality, fitness or leisure.
• Strong leadership with ability to build and develop high-performing teams.
• Commercial acumen with budgets, KPIs and P&L experience.
• Passion for health, fitness, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing club team to deliver an exceptional member experience.
• Take ownership of the club's commercial performance, driving membership growth, retention and revenue targets.
• Champion Virgin Active’s new social wellness vision and maintain brand standards.
• Manage budgets, P&L, and KPIs to run the club efficiently and profitably.
• Oversee health & safety and compliance to ensure a safe environment.
• Foster a culture of wellbeing, teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Build strong relationships with members and understand their needs.
• Collaborate with support teams to deliver new initiatives.
