Job summary

Sir John Talbot’s School is seeking a Student Support and Wellbeing Leader to oversee safeguarding, wellbeing and pastoral provision, acting as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. You will work with families, staff and external agencies to promote safe, inclusive learning.

You will coordinate targeted support for vulnerable students, monitor attendance and wellbeing, and contribute to multi-agency plans. This is a permanent post on a full-time basis, with term-time plus two PD days.

Qualifications

• Experience in safeguarding and pastoral provision is desirable.
• Ability to coordinate support for vulnerable students and families.

Responsibilities

• Support safeguarding and child protection processes as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL).
• Manage safeguarding referrals, records and actions in line with statutory guidance and school procedures.
• Coordinate targeted support for vulnerable students and their families.
• Work with attendance, pastoral, SEND and inclusion teams to improve outcomes.
• Liaise with external agencies and contribute to multi‑agency meetings and plans.
• Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, attendance and inclusion across the school.
• Monitor attendance, behaviour and wellbeing information to identify needs and interventions.
