Job summary

Severn Vale School is seeking a compassionate Wellbeing Practitioner to join the Wellbeing Team. You will provide one-to-one and group support, help with crisis management, and promote mental health awareness across the student community.

The successful candidate will hold a Level 3+ counselling qualification or have experience in a mental health/wellbeing setting with young people or adults. A proactive, autonomous approach is essential.

Qualifications

  • Must hold Level 3+ counselling qualification or demonstrable experience in mental health/wellbeing with children or adults.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents.
  • Able to tailor interventions to individual students' needs and work autonomously.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver one-to-one wellbeing sessions.
  • Run group wellbeing activities and sessions.
  • Assist with crisis management.
  • Promote mental health awareness across the school community.

Job description

Severn Vale School is an Academy which provides an inclusive secondary education for students aged 11-16, that delivers strong student outcomes through high quality teaching and outstanding pastoral care. We are looking for an empathetic and dedicated Wellbeing Practitioner to join our Wellbeing Team at Severn Vale School. The successful candidate will work as part of a team with two other wellbeing practitioners, providing professional support to students experiencing emotional, social, and mental health challenges. As a key part of our Wellbeing Team, you will deliver one-to-one sessions, group sessions, help with crisis management and promote mental health awareness across the school community. The successful applicant will hold a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 3 or above certificate in counselling) OR have experience, working in a
mental health/wellbeing setting with children or adults, You will have experience working with children and adolescents, demonstrating effective interpersonal, organisational and administrative skills. You will have a clear understanding of the challenges faced by young people including the impact of social media, family dynamics and peer relationships. You will be a confident, autonomous practitioner who is able to adapt the intervention to the needs of the individual student.In return we offer a comprehensive well-being provision including:

  • This is a permanent contract, 3 or 4 days per week, 39 weeks per year. Hours of work will be 8:00am - 4:00pm.
