Job summary

The Grange School is seeking a Wellbeing Practitioner to work with the wellbeing team to support pupils and staff.

The role reports to the Deputy Head (Pastoral) via the Head of Wellbeing Support, with term-time hours and a 32.5-hour week. Responsibilities include pupil wellbeing, liaison with external agencies as needed, and maintaining secure records.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering pupil wellbeing support.
• Ability to liaise with pastoral staff and external agencies.
• Competence in maintaining confidential case records.

Responsibilities

• Offer pupils individual wellbeing support.
• Work with issues such as bereavement, anxiety, eating disorders, self-harm and low mood.
• Provide consultation to pastoral staff.
• Liaise with the Head of Wellbeing Support.
• Discuss with the Head of Wellbeing Support when external agency involvement is needed.
• Keep case records securely as directed.
• Attend regular supervision with a clinical supervisor (costs shared by the School).
• Follow school child protection policies.
• Regularly report numbers and types of cases to the Head of Wellbeing Support.
• Work within BACP/UKCP codes of practice and ethics.

Salary: £32,640 per annum

Reports to: Head of Wellbeing Service

Working hours: 5 days per week, 8.30am - 4.00pm, term time only

Start date: As soon as possible

The post offered is that of Wellbeing Practitioner, to work alongside the wellbeing team.

The successful candidate will provide a wellbeing service to the pupils and staff of The Grange School and will report directly to the Deputy Head (Pastoral) via the Head of Wellbeing Support.

Working hours are 32.5 hours per week during term-time only.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to fulfil the following duties:

• To offer pupils individual wellbeing support
• To work with a diverse range of issues including bereavement and loss, transition, eating disorders and self-harm, low mood, anger management and erratic behaviour, abuse of any kind, anxiety and fears
• To provide consultation to other pastoral staff
• To liaise with the Head of Wellbeing Support
• To discuss with the Head of Wellbeing Support where there is a need to involve outside agencies
• To keep suitable case records in a secure place, as directed
• To attend regular supervision with a suitably qualified clinical supervisor (a contribution to the costs will be made by the School)
• Working in consultation with the School child protection policies
• To discuss with the Head of Wellbeing Support on a regular basis on numbers using the service and give a general overview of the types of problems with which the users of the service are presenting
• To perform duties within the codes of practice and ethics recommended by the BACP, UKCP or equivalent organisation
• Where time allows, work alongside the Head of Wellbeing Support and Pastoral Deputy to further our wider mental health strategy
