Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Wellbeing and Activities Coordinator for Abbey Court Care Home in Heath Hayes, Cannock. You will deliver a range of activities to support residents’ physical, mental, and social wellbeing, guided by our values of privacy, dignity, independence, choice and fulfilment.

The ideal candidate has experience with older people in residential settings, can plan and run engaging events, and communicates effectively with residents, families and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience with older people in dementia care.
• Experience planning activities and events.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify residents' life history and preferences to develop activity plans.
• Plan monthly activity and wellbeing plans; provide weekly overview.
• Arrange activities, events and outings with staff, relatives and visitors.
• Maintain a safe environment and support the home’s professional image.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus asWellbeing andActivitiesCoordinator will be to provide a wide range of activities to engage and stimulate theresidents' physical, psychological, and social well-being and to understand the need to promote the philosophy of privacy, dignity, independence, choice, rights, and fulfilment for all residents.

• Identifying the life history, needs, and preferences of residents by listening to them and their families to support the development of a detailed life story.
• Planning and submitting to the Home Manager- a monthly activity and wellbeing plan and a weekly overview.
• Arranging activities, events, and outings, encouraging the involvement of staff, relatives, and visitors.
• Maintaining a safe living and working environment, contributing to the positive and professional image of the home.

• Previously worked with older people in a residential nursing Dementia setting
