Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is hiring a Wellbeing and Activities Assistant at Elton House Care Home in Watford. You will support the Wellbeing Coordinator in delivering a diverse programme of activities to enhance residents' physical, cognitive and social well-being.

You will maintain a safe environment, report changes to staff, help order and prepare supplies, and build links with the local community to promote intergenerational activity. Weekend work is required.

Qualifications

• Have effective communication skills, verbal and written.
• Demonstrate understanding of how interaction affects well-being of residents.
• Positive attitude towards older people and commitment to stimulating activities.
• Previous work with older people in residential dementia settings.

Responsibilities

• Support the Wellbeing Coordinator to deliver activities that engage residents physically, cognitively, and socially.
• Maintain a safe living and working environment and uphold the home’s professional image.
• Report changes in residents’ condition to the Wellbeing and Activity Coordinator, Home Manager, and care staff.
• Assist with ordering and preparing supplies for upcoming activities.
• Engage with the local community to promote intergenerational activity and access to wider community resources.
