Job summary

Avery Healthcare in Bournemouth is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Wellbeing and Activities Assistant to support the Wellbeing Coordinator in delivering engaging activities for residents. You’ll help promote physical, cognitive and social wellbeing in a compassionate, respectful environment.

You’ll work with our award-winning team at Westbourne Tower Care Home, building links with the community and ensuring a safe, supportive atmosphere. DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• Effective communication skills, verbal and written.
• Understanding how interaction affects wellbeing.
• Positive attitude toward older people and commitment to stimulating activities.
• Experience with older people in residential dementia settings.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining a safe living and working environment, contributing to the professional image of the home.
• Report changes in residents’ physical or emotional condition to the Wellbeing Coordinator, Home Manager, and care staff.
• Assist with ordering and preparing supplies for upcoming activities as directed.
• Help establish links with local community groups to promote intergenerational activities.
