Job description

Salary: SP9 £24,319– SP13 £26,012 per annum (dependent on experience & qualifications)

Permanent subject to funding

KEY TERMS & CONDITIONS

PURPOSE OF JOB

SOAR Community are seeking to recruit an experienced Welfare Coach. Working as part of the Homewards Sheffield Innovative Housing Project (IHP), aimed at preventing homelessness and providing wrap-around support for families living in north east/east Sheffield.

The role will:

  1. Provide tailored emotional and practical support to help individuals navigate various housing processes and maintain tenancies
  2. Coordinate, simplify, and broker access to a range of housing, health, employment, education, and social support based on the needs and wishes of the individual
  3. Assist with applying for housing-related benefits such as Housing Benefit, Council Tax Support, Discretionary Housing Payment, and Household Support Fund
  4. Co-produce a personalized support plan that encourages empowerment and self-management of household needs
  5. Empower individuals to express their views, wishes, and concerns in dealings with landlords
  6. Connect individuals to local and city-wide services
  7. Contribute to learning and evaluation of the IHP project

  • Salary: SP9 £24,319– SP13 £26,012 per annum (dependent on experience & qualifications)
