Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd is recruiting an experienced Welding & Quality Engineer to join a growing sheet metal and fabrication manufacturer in the UK. The role focuses on welding procedures, quality assurance, PPAP submissions, and continuous improvement across OEM projects in construction and agricultural sectors.

You will support welder training, manage Control Plans and Process Flows, investigate non-conformances, and work closely with production, engineering, and inspection teams to deliver

Qualifications

  • Experience within fabrication, sheet metal, or heavy engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of MIG/MAG welding processes.
  • PPAP documentation experience.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and weld symbols.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
  • Desirable: IWE, IWT, or CSWIP qualifications; ISO 3834/ISO 9001 knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining welding procedures and qualifications.
  • Supporting welder training and resolving welding-related quality issues.
  • Preparing and managing PPAP submissions.
  • Creating and maintaining Control Plans, PFMEAs, Process Flows, and Inspection Plans.
  • Investigating non-conformances and leading corrective actions.
  • Managing customer and supplier quality concerns.
  • Supporting audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Working closely with production, engineering, and inspection teams.
  • Supporting new product introductions and manufacturing improvements

Job description

The Welding & Quality Engineer role, based in Burslem, offers a full-time, permanent contract with a salary between £34,632 and £38,480 per annum. This position involves developing weld procedures, supporting operator training, and resolving fabrication defects for a manufacturer serving construction and agricultural sectors.

Welding & Quality EngineerFull-Time | Permanent £18.00 - £20.00 per hour (DOE)

We're recruiting for an experienced Welding & Quality Engineer to join a growing sheet metal and fabrication manufacturer supplying high-quality components and assemblies to leading OEM customers in the construction, agricultural, and off-highway vehicle sectors. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in welding, quality assurance, customer projects, and continuous improvement within a modern manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include preparing PPAP submissions, maintaining Control Plans, and managing Process Flows.

The role requires expertise in quality assurance, customer project coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Candidates should possess strong technical knowledge of welding standards and quality systems, with prior experience in similar manufacturing environments considered essential.

The working pattern is standard full-time hours.
