Job summary

Pertemps Stoke on Trent is seeking an experienced Welding & Quality Engineer to join a growing sheet metal and fabrication manufacturer supplying high-quality components to leading OEMs in construction and off-highway sectors.

You will develop welding procedures, support welder training, manage PPAP submissions, and drive corrective actions with production, engineering and inspection teams in a modern manufacturing setting. This is a full-time, on-site position with progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in fabrication, sheet metal, or heavy engineering.
• Strong knowledge of MIG/MAG welding processes.
• PPAP and quality documentation experience.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and weld symbols.
• Experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Strong communication skills and customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain welding procedures and qualifications.
• Support welder training and resolve welding-related quality issues.
• Prepare and manage PPAP submissions.
• Create and maintain Control Plans, PFMEAs, Process Flows, and Inspection Plans.
• Investigate non-conformances and lead corrective actions.
• Manage customer and supplier quality concerns.
• Support audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work closely with production, engineering, and inspection teams.
• Support new product introductions and manufacturing improvements.
