Job DescriptionJob Description

This is a part-time, 15 hour per week position on our second shift with a starting salary range of $19.98 - $22.93.

SCOPE OF WORK: To provide technical, pedagogical, administrative and logistical support to Welding department faculty. This position shall report to the Department Chair of Welding.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Maintains a general order in the lab, and reorganize tools and material inventory.
  • Occasionally machine tensile test coupons for the Metallurgy Lab.
  • Performs simple repairs on welding equipment.
  • Process incoming materials for the lab.
  • Construct and weld new lab tooling and equipment as necessary.
  • Flamecut weld test coupons as required.
  • Occasionally supervises work study students in general cleaning and order of the lab.
  • Complies with all system, college, state and federal rules and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Associate’s or technical degree in the field of Welding.

Experience: Two (2) years’ experience in the field of Welding.

RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Knowledge of welding principles, techniques, terminology and equipment. Skill in the care and operation of welding equipment. Ability to follow directions and to make simple arithmetic computations. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college’s appointing authority.
