Job summary

Babcock in Plymouth is seeking a Production Hub Manager to lead a welding hub at Devonport Royal Dockyard. You will unite resources for submarine projects, drive improvements, and shape a new operational model. You’ll influence strategic decisions and develop the workforce while ensuring safety and quality on site.

The role is full-time, on site, 35 hours per week, with security clearance requirements and opportunities for career development within a national defence context.

Qualifications

• Experience leading operational teams in manufacturing, engineering or defence environments.
• Coordination of resources and priorities across multiple stakeholders and projects.
• Proven track record in driving performance improvements and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily operations of the welding hub to deploy resources effectively.
• Chair planning and look-ahead meetings with stakeholders to set priorities.
• Drive productivity improvements and implement cost-saving process changes.
• Collaborate with Production Capability Managers on workforce development and succession planning.
• Provide visible leadership, ensuring safety, quality and performance standards.
